Efficiency is a major factor that contributes to the success of a business, if it is executed within all areas of operation. The amount of success a company experiences can be dampened by inefficient processes. The Extreme Team approached the business Destination Success and came across such a problem. Destination Success was experiencing a low profit margin per unit sold of their product. When we used Ishikawa’s tree diagram to find the root cause, we discovered Destination Success had an inefficient distribution process. By using the advice of Deming, we implemented an experimental distribution process on a small scale that was more efficient and created a higher profit margin.
